Namesky account trading

NameSky enables NEAR account trading through NFTs. Buyers can accept a seller's listed price or submit an offer that the NFT owner decides whether to accept.

Price setting and acceptance

Decision point Purchase a listing Make an offer
Price proposal The seller sets the asking price. The buyer specifies the offer amount.
Counterparty action The buyer purchases at the listed price. The NFT owner can accept a particular buyer's offer.
Revision or cancellation The listing can be updated or removed. The offer can be updated or removed.

The NameSky SDK provides separate methods to create, update, and remove listings and offers. Its offer-acceptance call identifies both the account NFT and the buyer. Submitting an offer alone does not complete a trade.

The NFT and the attached account

A NameSky account NFT represents ownership of its associated NEAR account. The listing price and offer amount express proposed prices for that NFT; neither amount establishes the NEAR balance held by the attached account.

Redemption is the separate operation through which the NFT holder takes the attached account back and burns the NFT. Removing a sale listing or withdrawing a purchase offer does not perform that redemption.

A lower offer on the same account NFT

Can a buyer acquire the same account NFT for less than its listed price? In this hypothetical comparison on NEAR, the listing price is 86 NEAR, and the buyer's offer is 66 NEAR.

The offer is 20 NEAR below the listing: 86 - 66 = 20 . An unaccepted offer does not transfer ownership. If the owner accepts the 66 NEAR offer and the trade completes on those terms, 66 NEAR is the agreed trade price. A purchase of the unchanged listing would use its 86 NEAR price.

If the buyer raises or lowers the hypothetical offer, that new amount still needs the owner's acceptance. Transaction charges are outside this price comparison.
