Namesky NFT minting

NameSky creates a non-fungible token (NFT) that represents a NEAR account. Minting places the account under a lock contract and removes its existing access keys, making NFT ownership the basis for controlling the attached account.

Imported-account balance
The mint interface specifies 0.35 NEAR in the imported account for gas and storage.

Changes to the imported account

The published NameSky SDK skips controller setup for an already correctly configured account. Otherwise, it deploys controller code, clears existing contract state if present, initializes the controller, and removes access keys. Review any existing application-contract use before minting, because the account's deployed code and stored state can change.

NameSky states that the access key used for the import is not uploaded and is deleted after minting. That handling of the import key is separate from removing the account's access keys on-chain.

Import and mint confirmation

The NameSky mint flow asks you to sign in with a NEAR wallet, import the selected account with full permissions, and confirm the mint. The 0.35 NEAR requirement applies to the imported account's balance. It does not specify the total amount that minting will consume.

The SDK stores the imported account's key by account ID and network. Wallet sign-in alone does not establish full-access authorization for that account.

The documented SDK minting sequence supplies the registrant key before calling postMint , followed by waitMintCompleted . The registrant is the account being minted. The first call registers that account and sets up its controller; the second polls for the account NFT. NameSky's mint service handles minting.

If your NEAR wallet has a Collectibles view, inspect the NameSky NFT and its attached account there.

Does a finished setup call confirm the NFT exists?

In this hypothetical SDK session on NEAR mainnet, a previously unminted account has the required import balance and full-access authorization. The account and network remain the same in both observations.

Setup finished, token absent
postMint has returned, but the account's token lookup returns no NFT. Controller setup has finished; continue checking before treating the mint as complete.
Setup finished, token present
The lookup now returns the NameSky token for that account. waitMintCompleted returns that token, providing the completed mint result.

Key questions about Namesky NFT minting

When does minting qualify for the 40 SKY reward?

NameSky ties the 40 SKY reward per minted NFT to its anniversary event. NFTs must be minted during that event to qualify under those terms, and the event's SKY rewards can be claimed only after the event ends.
